Description:

This initiative began in 2010, within the ambit of the concept of Creating Shared Value of Nespresso, with the goal of creating value for both the company and the community. Nespresso implemented a pioneering capsule recycling program in 2009, in association with business partners. The program currently offers 250 collection points all over Portugal. Following this recycling program, the "Recycling is Feeding" initiative consists in removing the aluminum from coffee grounds. The coffee is then composted, to create an organic fertilizer that can be used in rice fields.

0€ (All expenses supported by Nespresso).

Results:

13 tons of rice donated to 20 food banks contributed to over 1 million meals in Portugal.
