Cook and recondition meat with short lifetime

Description:

Once a week, a private restaurant owner prepares meals with meat with a very short lifetime (0 day) coming from collections.
The project is in collaboration with the city: cook these meats, and condition them by vacuum packaging or freezing, and redistribute the processed products to the associations.

Costs:

0€ for the Food Bank and the association ; Investment of the city of Grenoble.

Results:

35 meals per week are currently served to homeless persons. Goal of September 2013: 50 kg of meat per day or 200 meals.

Tips or tricks:

Involvement of local authorities, use of empty premises and unusable equipment; strict hygiene rules, creation of an integration project.
